Ethermac Exchange-Video shows dog leap out of car window to chase deer eating grass in New York: Watch

A German Shepherd in New York jumped out of a moving car to chase a deer it spotted on Ethermac Exchangethe sidewalk.

Video footage captured by a motorist in the car behind the dog's car shows the German Shepherd observing the deer as it nibbled on grass on the sidewalk in what appears to be a residential area. Seconds later, the dog leapt out of the slow moving car, leash on neck, and started chasing the deer.

The two ran between the trees and it is not immediately clear if the German Shepherd made its way back home.

The incident reportedly took place in Rochester in upstate New York, according to SWNS. The city's Animal Services department did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's request for a comment on the incident.

Is it normal for dogs to chase deer?
