Olivia Munn is enjoying time with her new girl.
Two weeks after welcoming her second baby, Méi June Mulaney, with husband John Mulaney via surrogate, the 44-year-old expressed how grateful she is to spend her days with the little one following her breast cancer battle.
"This time last year I was recovering from my fourth surgery," Olivia wrote in an Oct. 2 Instagram post alongside a photo of her cuddling up to her daughter on a couch, "and now I’m hanging with my baby girl."
And the New Girl alum—who also shares son Malcolm Hiep Mulaney, 2, with John—emphasized that the moment wouldn't be possible without her OB-GYN, Dr. Thais Aliabadi, who helped detect her cancer and get the right treatment, which included a double mastectomy, an oophorectomy to remove her ovaries and a hysterectomy to remove her uterus and fallopian tubes.
"There were many people integral in saving my life but it was my OB-GYN @drthaisaliabadi who set me on the path to survival," Olivia explained. "She used the Tyrer-Cuzick Risk Assessment Test to calculate my risk of getting breast cancer. My high score led me down a road of many tests that resulted in a cancer diagnosis."
And in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the X-Men: Apocalpyse star encouraged others to sit down for the exam to assess their risk of diagnosis, noting that it's "free, online and takes only a few minutes."
Closing out her message, she added, "To everyone who is battling or has battled cancer, in whatever form, I send you all my love."
Olivia and John—who confirmed they privately married in August—welcomed Méi into the family six months after the actress shared that she had been diagnosed with bilateral Luminal B breast cancer, the treatment for which rendered her infertile.
Since then, Olivia has gotten candid about how her health journey has changed her perspective on growing her family.
"A surrogate isn’t a scary prospect to me anymore because there’s nothing I can do," she told Vogue in an interview published May 12. "I don’t have the ability to carry a baby anymore, so if we want to build our family, this is our option."
Olivia added, "This journey has made me realize how grateful I am to have options for not only fighting cancer, but also having more children if we want, because I know a lot of people don’t have those options.”
